The War of Body Care Verses People. What?

 Petroleum is one of the most common preservatives used in the body care industry and it is a superb and an amazing preservative! When added to a water and oil base mixed product it keeps it from growing the hibby gibbies in the bottle that none of us want! On the flip side, petroleum, despite all the well debated political reasons, is absolutely harmful and horrific for your skin! And this, I'm sure when you stop to think about it, makes senses.

But why?  While, at first you may think you are experiencing a greasy and emollient benefit, such as in a lotion or lip balm, it is deceiving. Petroleum acts by drawing moisture to itself, meaning the moisture “in” your skin is absorbed "out" to the surface where it is then evaporated, rubbed off, licked off and/or kissed off creating the seemingly “need” for more because your skin/lips have just become drier!

And so the addiction begins............. and this crazy cycle of marketing in body care industry has a lifetime customer under false pretense.  Your skin is dry, you use lotion (containing petro), it dries you out and you think you need more, so you buy more and more and your skin is never really moisturized= an addiction that is never fulfilled.

And Yes,you do, in fact, need more moisture! Real moisture......like two main ingredients- oil and wax. That's it! Oil is used to sink into your skin creating new thicker skin with more elasicity and the wax gets to seal it in. You see good ingredients are meant to go in, not draw your goodness out.
