If so, let me tell you why!! The cause of "most" annoying skin conditions are plain and simply the very products we use every single day - soap and lotion. Yep, believe it or not, most commercial soaps are extremely drying and irritating because they contain lots of detergents. The marketing by big commercial companies would have us believe that detergents are actually good.....they make us clean. In reality, they are directly responsible for that dry, itchy skin or that pesky rash that won't seem to go away. We then turn to lotions to try and rehydrate the skin from the conditions the soap caused, but it doesn't seem to work for very long, does it? Ever wonder why? It's because "most" commercial lotions (lip balms too while we're at it), contain two of the most widely used preservatives, petroleum and mineral oil. See, petroleum does nothing for your skin, in reality it is actually working against your skin!!! It is a Humectant, meaning it absorbs water in itself, effectively drawing moisture out of your skin and the environment.
Let me say that again......due to the use of petroleum in most commercial lotions AND lip balms, they are actually drawing moisture away from your skin and lips, NOT into them! Why would they do this? Well think about it....it's actually brilliant marketing! They are creating an addiction in you toward your lotions! You put it on....it dries out your skin, therefore making you want to put it on again.....and again......an endless cycle. In addition, would you ever stick your hand in a can of crude oil and put that on your skin? Yuk!
